Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 Shipping

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4This week brought news that Adobe is now shipping Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4, the new version of their application that provides digital photography tools to the photographer for non-destructive editing of their images. The application has been available for public beta for about 2 months as Adobe sought public testing and input on the new features.

Major new features include a completely new image processing engine, location based image management with new mapping module, a book module (partnering with digital book publisher Blurb), improved video support, soft proofing and many more new features.

Possibly the biggest news is that Adobe has cut their pricing of the product in half for both new licenses and version upgrades.

Lightroom has been my preferred application for my photography image work. I have used the beta version during the past months and have been impressed with the improvements particularly in the image processing engine. Adobe has made significant enhancements from the previous version in handling highlight and shadow details along with many more adjustments possible in the Develop Module.
